There’s a radio commercial that has you visioning a dog talking about her master. “He throws his ball and then I have to go run and bring it back to him. Then he throws it again. I don’t understand.” Even though I don’t own a dog now I thought that if I had one what would it say to me?
“Why is it okay for you to eat all that great food and I’m stuck eating this dried stuff out of a bowl on the floor?”
“I bark at strangers because its scares them and it’s more fun than saying “Hi, how’s it going.”
“Do you think you can get me a gig on the radio like McFeely’s Rudy the Rescue Dog?”
“It’s snowing outside, why can’t we work something out like they do cats?”
“Did you say I’m going to the Vet to get “tutored?”
I recently attended a birthday gathering for a friend. She is one of my “karaoke” pals and she invited some of us to join her at a West Fargo pub for a little singing, and then out to another establishment to listen to a band called “Arena” as she wanted do some dancing. Well I don’t dance but I decided to go with because the group sounded interesting, and it was a new place I had not had the pleasure to visit yet. Here is my tip for all single men. If you don’t know how to….LEARN TO DANCE! The dance floor had to have been 90 per cent women. None of the guys apparently wanted to try their hand (or feet) at it. I got invited out on the dance floor and promptly asked if the young lady had lost a bet! She laughed, accepted my decline and walked away. I’m serious folks, I don’t dance but something tells me I should learn. It’s on my bucket list.
The big announcement came out last week that our KFGO “Tom Wynn and Friends’ annual Christmas party is set for Friday, December 19th at our studios at 1020 S 25th Street in Fargo. Time 6 to 9 AM. That’s right A.M. So set your clock and be there or be square (sorry 60’s flashback there). One change is that there’s no parking available this year at the old Sunmart/CVS parking lot because of the major renovation of the building so we are asking people to park in the Big Top Bingo lot and we will have a warm Shuttle bus pick you up and bring you right to the studio front door. There will be great food, music, a collectible Tom Wynn and Friends coffee mug, and our entire staff will spread throughout the building to greet you with the Holiday spirit. Now, I won’t be in the hallways but instead on the air that morning so give me a wave as you pass by and if you bring a copy of The Extra with I’ll be happy to autograph it for you. Other columnists for the Extra include Mike McFeely and Doug Leier will be there. I wouldn’t doubt the Minnesota State Patrol’s Jesse Grabow will be there at some point too.
Finally: During Black Friday shopping I bought the first season of “House of Cards” with Kevin Spacey for eight bucks. I can’t keep my eyes off the screen. I’ll be buying season two for Christmas.
