Jefferson Bus Lines Relocates Fargo Terminal

FARGO, ND – Jefferson Bus Lines announced that its Fargo bus depot will relocate to the Stamart at 3500 12th Avenue North, Fargo, ND 58102 as of December 3, 2014. “We made the decision to relocate after a comprehensive evaluation of customer and internal company needs for a depot in Fargo,” said Bob Musil, Business Development Manager for Jefferson Lines. In searching for a new location, Jefferson Lines formed a partnership with Stamart, a full service travel plaza ideally located off Interstate 29 and just a short distance from the current depot.

The new location will continue to provide the same services currently offered, which include ticketing, bus drop off and pick up, and package express. However, it will also offer new customer conveniences such as an on-site restaurant, convenience store, fuel, attached hotel, and a dedicated customer waiting area. “Jefferson Lines is excited for the move as the new space is ideally matched for our business and promises to offer exceptional customer care,” said Kevin Pursey, Director of Marketing for Jefferson Lines. Pursey went on to say that while the physical location of the Fargo depot is changing, all route schedules and contact information will remain the same. North Dakota Scores a “B” on

March of Dimes Premature Birth Report Card

BISMARCK, N.D. –In the annual March of Dimes Premature Birth Report Card released last week, North Dakota scored a “B” with a 9.9 percent premature birth rate, according to the March of Dimes North Dakota Chapter and the North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH).

“Since 2006, North Dakota’s preterm birth rate has decreased from 12.1 to 9.9 percent. This success is a testament to the hard work of North Dakota’s state and local health departments, our hospital partners, and health care providers. When a health problem as complex as preterm birth is challenged with strong policies and bold leadership, babies benefit,” said Maureen Splettstaszer, Board Member of the March of Dimes North Dakota Chapter.

“The rate of preterm birth has plateaued the past three years; this indicates more efforts need to be made to ensure a healthy birth for the babies of North Dakota, with particular attention to American Indian women. American Indian infants are 8.3 times more likely to be born to a mother who had inadequate prenatal care than infants born to white mothers,” said Joyal Meyer, Director of the Optimal Pregnancy Outcome Program, North Dakota Department of Health.

November is also World Prematurity Awareness Month with World Prematurity Day observed November 17.

For more information about premature births or to join in giving all babies a strong start, contact the March of Dimes North Dakota Chapter by calling 701.235.5530 or e-mailing RMathern-Jacobson@marchofdimes.org.

HBA presents Kochmann

Brothers Homes with ‘BEAM’ Award

Fargo, N.D. – The Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead presented its BEAM award to Kochmann Brothers Homes, Inc., at the Association’s October Awards Gala & Annual Meeting. This is the second year in a row that Kochmann Brothers Homes, Inc., has received this honor.

BEAM stands for Builders Engaging Associate Members. It was created in 2011 by the National Association of Home Builders to recognize Builder members who exemplify the motto “it’s good business to do business with a member.” It is designed to encourage Builder members to use the goods and services offered by other member companies and to recognize the one Builder who exemplifies this vitally important teamwork.

For the local award, HBA Builder members were nominated and judged by Associate members considering the following criteria: loyalty, ethics, trust, consideration and communication when dealing with trade partners.

Brothers Bob and Paul Kochmann have been members of the HBA of F-M for over 30 years. Darrick Guthmiller became involved with the company in 1999 and is now part owner. The company is a custom home building and remodeling company serving the F-M area and lakes country.

“My brother and I saw the value of having a network of building industry partners, and because the Association offers many pertinent education classes to keep us at the forefront in regulatory issues, code and general building practice changes,” Bob says. “Personally, I never completed a formal education, so that benefit was incredibly valuable.”

Kochmann Brothers Homes will also be considered for the North Dakota Association of Builders’ BEAM award to be presented at its annual meeting in November in Grand Forks.
