Fargo street construction
Starting Wednesday, Oct. 8, 32nd Avenue North between University Drive and Broadway will be closed for one week. Crews will be repairing the concrete pavement. There will be a detour in place directing traffic around the closure.
Starting today, Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, speeds will be decreased to 30 mph on 19th Avenue North between Dakota Drive and I-29. The contractor working in that area is excavating at a drain improvement project site and hauling the clay to be used as levee material on the El Zagal area flood risk management project. The speed reduction will remain in place for several weeks.

If you are single, never been married and between the ages of 13 to 18 years, applications are being accepted for the title of “2015” Miss Teen Clay County. Miss Teen Clay County will represent her county at the Miss Teen Minnesota pageant, which will be held at the “Ritsche Auditorium, March 14th, 2015 in the city of St. Cloud, Minnesota..
The young lady chosen as “Miss Teen Clay County” will become an ambassador from the Clay County area and will receive an official title and sash!
The young lady chosen as Miss Teen Minnesota will receive a prize package and scholarship totaling $10,000 and the chance to represent Minnesota at the “2015” Miss Teen International pageant in Jacksonville, Florida.
The “ American Heart Association’s’’ Go for Red for Women” is the official Charity of the Miss Teen Minnesota Pageant.
Teens will compete in Personal Interview, Fitness Wear, Fun Fashion Wear and Evening Gown. (There is no talent or swimsuit competition)! Young teen ladies living in Clay County interested in applying should write for bio-form to:

Bethany to Host Long
Term Care Planning Seminar
Bethany Retirement Living will host a seminar titled “Preparing for Long Term Care: A Gift your Family Deserves” at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 28 at Bethany on 42nd (4255 30 Ave S, Fargo.)
The seminar will be led by Dena Bennett, a Financial Associate with Thrivent Financial. It will address developing a long-term care strategy that will help preserve independence, protect income and assets, and reassure the family about the future.

Regional Library with Monster Ninjas
Author Ryan Jacobson
Lake Agassiz Regional Library (LARL) is pleased to announce that Ryan Jacobson, author of the Monster Ninjas comic book series and various other works, will present at several LARL locations and service areas in October in celebration of Teen Read Week 2014: October 12 to 18.
Minnesota native Jacobson has written more than 30 books for children and teens—including picture books, chapter books, graphic novels, Choose Your Path books, and (his personal favorite) comic books. Jacobson uses his passion and talent for storytelling to write and to encourage others to get excited about writing and reading books.
Jacobson will discuss his writing process and how he became an accomplished author. He will also present on how to plan, create, and publish a written work. In addition, audience members will get to participate in an interactive story building activity.
Celebrate Teen Read Week with Jacobson at a LARL location near you. Free admission and open to the public.
