Guest speaker will be David Pietruzsa, a historian and author who focuses on terrorist attacks, who worked in the World Trade Center and was present when the last Americans were pulled out of the wreckage at Ground Zero.

61for61 Home Run Walk:

The Home Run Walk is a part of the annual 61for61 event. For 20 years, 61for61 has become a tradition in the Fargo-Moorhead area which raises funds to support cancer care, research, and survivorship at the Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center. The enthusiasm and the financial support of donors from all over the Midwest has provided a better experience for the thousands of patients who walk through the door of the Roger Maris Cancer Center every year. Donations have also helped support the tremendous amount of clinical research being conducted to benefit patients. Registration begins at 7:00am, 10k run/walk starts at 8:30am, 5k at 8:45am. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk:

The JDRF Walk is an impactful way to raise money for critically needed type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and show your support for the millions of people affected by this serious disease. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure. That is why JDRF holds more than 200 Walks across the country every year to raise money for JDRF — the only global organization with a strategic research plan to end T1D. Every dollar JDRF directs toward research comes from donors. Registration begins at 12:00pm; walk begins at 1:00pm.

Latino Heritage Month Event: “Help Wanted:”

This one-act play tells the story of impoverished immigrants who come to Minnesota to seek a better life and to help their family in Mexico. With satire, “Help Wanted” demonstrates the plight of workers whose labor is needed in Minnesota, but who risk harsh treatment and inequities when trying to fill this need.
