Welcome back, students!

We missed you! I’ve been talking with MSUM President Anne Blackhurst and Concordia President Bill Kraft about you. It’s important to us that your experience in Moorhead is a good one. Our businesses, on both sides of the river, have missed you too. I see “Help Wanted” signs that I hope will give you good opportunities if you choose to have a job as you complete your education in our community. I think you’ll enjoy a few new entertainment and eating opportunities that happen this year too.

One of the things that Presidents Blackhurst and Kraft and I talked about it is opportunities for students to become involved with our community. September 9, 10 and 11 will be a grassroots opportunity to put your voice to what would be important for Moorhead to become/focus on/celebrate. Each is a casual European coffee house style event that starts at 6:30 at the Hjemkomst (9th). Marriott (10th) and Bluestem Center for the Arts (11th), respectively. It’s very important to me that students are a part of that voice so I hope you will stop by one of them. Welcome back. I’ll be at your colleges for a variety of events. Don’t hesitate to stop me to introduce yourself.
