Museum seeks donated
fabrics for community art project
Fargo, N.D. – Got fabric? Plains Art Museum is looking for donations of fabric, old clothing and sheets for use in “Woven Welcome,” an interactive art project in its Living as Form exhibition. Artist Jill Odegaard has set up a loom in the gallery to allow visitors to help create a set of woven rugs which will be tied together into a banner and rolled out at the Museum later this summer.
Odegaard said cotton, silk, and linen fabrics are preferred to give the woven rugs consistent width; therefore, stretchy fabrics such as t-shirt knits and flannel will not be used. Donations may be dropped off at the Museum, 704 First Ave. N., in downtown Fargo.

Dark intersections to be
treated as “all-way” stops
FARGO, N.D. (June 23, 2014) – Due to the number of power outages that commonly occur during the summer months, the City of Fargo would like to remind drivers that when traffic signals are “dark” North Dakota State Law requires that intersections are treated as all-way stops. A “dark” intersection is any signalized intersection where the indications (red, yellow and green lights) are not lit. This provision, North Dakota Century Code, Section 39-10-22, exists to ensure traffic can flow safely even when signals are dark. Drivers are asked to share this important safety message with family, friends and co-workers.
