FARGO, N.D.(Feb. 18, 2014) – Area youngsters are invited to decorate quilt blocks with members of the local chapter of Project Linus this weekend at the Fargo Public Library. Kids of all ages can participate in decorating jungle-themed squares that will be sewn into quilts and passed out to area kids who are experiencing crisis or trauma. This open house event, titled “Quilts and Kids”, is scheduled Saturday, Feb. 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the downtown Main Library.
“Over the years, Project Linus blankets have been delivered to local hospitals, women’s shelters and social service agencies to provide comfort to children in distress,” according to Norene Baeth, Coordinator of the Fargo/Eastern ND Chapter of Project Linus. No registration is required for this event, and all materials will be provided.
Fargo Public Library events are free and open to the public; adults must accompany children ages 9 and under. For more information regarding the Fargo Public Library and a list of upcoming events, call the Children’s Librarian at 241-1495, or visit the library’s website, www.fargolibrary.org.
