The UND Writers Conference is a literary festival, consisting of approximately 40 hours of free programming over five days. The theme for the 44th Annual Conference is “A Portrait of an Artist”, which aims to bring together authors/artists who create characters in their work that are authors/artists, who draw on personal experience in their work, who may write creative non-fiction, and/or those who comment on the role of the author/artist in contemporary culture.

The Rourke Art Museum is pleased to host the fourth annual national juried photography exhibition “Of Memory, Bone & Myth.” The exhibit includes 53 works from 23 artists from around the United States. The University of North Dakota and the Myers Foundation are exhibit sponsors.
The opening reception will be held on March 22 from 5:30 – 7:00pm.

As a stand-up comic best known for his work on NBC’s “30 Rock” and “Saturday Night Live,” Tracy Morgan was first introduced to television audiences in his role as “Hustleman” on the hit comedy series “Martin.” He went on to join SNL in 1996 where he appeared for seven seasons and created such memorable characters as “Astronaut Jones” and “Brian Fellows.” After leaving SNL, Morgan went on to star in his own comedy series “The Tracy Morgan Show.”

The Beat Goes On: Rep. Dean Urdahl, Minnesota Author & Storyteller:

First elected in 2002, Rep. Urdahl is an author and retired educator. He has written a trilogy about the U.S. – Dakota Conflict, also known as the Sioux Uprising. The Uprising started across the lake from Rep. Urdahl’s home and his great-grandfather buried the conflict’s first five victims.
