Nordic Arts Alliance, a 501 C3 organization, whose mission is to educate and connect people through tribal and contemporary Nordic arts, will conduct its annual meeting at 1pm January 31 at the Spirit Room Gallery, downtown Fargo at 111 Broadway, above Swanson’s. The organization will present information on its past season and seek input on its upcoming season. The organization is looking for leaders and volunteers who are interested in bringing contemporary Nordic art forms to the US and in supporting US artists working in contemporary Nordic art forms. Installation artist and poet Jill Johnson will present spoken word pieces from her upcoming Inger’s Girl/The Piga Project. Anyone who would like to read their own culturally-based poetry, from any culture, is welcome to read as well.

The Fargo Police Department is trying to identify the armed robbery suspect in this photo. On Saturday 12/8/12 this male entered the GameStop store located in a strip mall at 1801 45 St S in Fargo shortly before closing time. The suspect is carrying what appears to be a rifle with a grab handle and sling, A-frame style front sight. The suspect demanded money from the safe and cash register. The clerk complied and the suspect fled the store on foot. It is unknown if the suspect continued on foot or had a vehicle nearby.
The suspect is described as a younger white male, late teens – 20’s, approximately 6’ tall, thin to medium build. Security video shows what appears to be long wavy brown hair covering part of the suspect’s face when he exits the store. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, black and white T-shirt, gray hooded sweatshirt with white on the back of the arms, black ski mask or baklava, and sunglasses.
