Watch for These Signs:
Sponsored by: National Stroke Association
Every. Second. Counts. When stroke happens, getting the right treatment before time runs out can halt long-term disability and the tragic consequences that affect thousands of families each year.
Take the Five Faces Pledge and these steps to act FAST:
F – Face: Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?
A – Arms: Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
S – Speech: Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Is their speech slurred or strange?
T – Time: If you observe any of these signs, call 9-1-1 immediately.
More than 100,000 people are at risk of dying from stroke this year. Acting FAST could mean your loved one gets the critical care they need during a stroke — it could save their life.
May is National Stroke Awareness Month.
