Seven Clans Casino, Hotel, &
Water Park begin renovations
On April 1st, Seven Clans Casino, Hotel and Water Park in Thief River Falls began a five phase renovation project to completely makeover its casino floor. The project is expected to be completed on May 20th, and having seen pictures of what the completed project will look like, I can say it is nothing short of amazing. Unlike many businesses that would typically have signs up all over saying “Please Excuse Us during Renovations” or something of the sort, Seven Clans is taking a different approach. They are inviting the public to their facilities during the renovations with several great promotions for both their hotel and casino. The biggest promotion of all is called “Construction Cash” and offers the general public their chance at $30,000. Now it’s not quite the $640 million dollar lottery that just happened this past week, but I don’t think I know anyone who couldn’t use $30,000. The new facility at Seven Clans will feature three new kiosks on their casino floor. The kiosks actually have names, and the name fits what they do. The Moe Moola kiosks will provide you with many of the same services now received at the Seven Clans Casino Players Club, and could also be your ticket to that $30,000 they are giving away. In speaking with GM Roland Hill and Marketing Director Randy Thunder, I am told that the five phase project will take place on Sunday thru Thursday each week from April 1st til May 20th, in order to cause the least disruption for their customers. By Friday of each week it is planned to have the particular phase of the renovation that was implemented for that week completed and in place for the busy weekends at Seven Clans Thief River. On May 24th we will run a feature story on the renovations of the Seven Clans property in Thief River Falls. I don’t want to give away all the wonderful changes that will be taking place. Here’s another secret that must be told about the Seven Clans facility in Thief River Falls. The restaurant, Sizzlin’ Sevens, is a hidden secret within our region. Not long ago a new chef was brought in to bring new life to the restaurant. Chef Alex Zuniga, to me, has made this one of the finest restaurants in the area. Since he came to Seven Clans, I have had several meals there, and I can tell you that without a doubt they have been some of the best meals I have eaten in the region. Chef Zuniga is nothing short of amazing, and if you happen to be in the area you must stop in for one of his fine meals. You will not be disappointed, and I recommend anything that Chef Zuniga has a part in.
Lots of April Events in Grand Forks
What a month April will be in Grand Forks, and it looks like the weather will be cooperating for all the upcoming events. The weekend of April 14th and 15th will be a busy one with both the Red River Valley Motor Cycle Show and the Prime Steel Car Show holding their annual events in Grand Forks. These events are always well attended, and you need only drive across town to have some time at both events. As always the Kem Shrine Circus will be in town for its yearly fun-filled circus. This will take place at The Ralph on April 27th, 28th and 29th. The circus is always just what the doctor ordered to usher in spring and lots of family fun. Other events planned for April include The Trans-Siberian Orchestra at The Ralph, lots of Easter egg hunts throughout the city on Easter weekend, the Harlem Globetrotters at The Alerus and much, much more. We were gifted with one of the easiest winters ever in Grand Forks, and the golf courses were open already on April 1st, which says a lot for the winter we just had.
Gas-Saving Getaways

I invite you to grab a copy, as I have found some great deals at great places that won’t break the bank when you head to the gas pumps. Predictions are saying we will see $5.00 a gallon gasoline this summer. Now let’s hope that doesn’t come to pass, but even at the $3.79 a gallon we are paying today, it’s a good time to be looking for vacation tips that will help with the gas bill. Keep an eye out for the magazine for these great gas-saving tips on your family vacations this summer.
