More than 1,100 residents voted for their favorite plow names
FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – This winter, Fargo residents unleashed their creativity and came up with more than 600 possible names for our snow plows through The City of Fargo’s “Name a Snow Plow” Contest. The Public Works and Engineering Departments, along with Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney and Deputy Mayor Denise Kolpack, narrowed the list of submissions down to 10 finalists based on creativity, originality and overall appeal. Names with Fargo or North Dakota themes earned extra points. If a name was submitted multiple times, the first entry received was considered.
In an online poll, more than 1,100 residents selected their favorite plow names from the list of finalists. The following names will be displayed on our plows this winter:
Betty Whiteout
BoomChickaPlowPlow
Buzz Iceclear
Plowabunga
Teddy Snowsevelt
Wheeler Snow Peeler
Individuals who submitted winning names have been notified. They will receive Fargo gear and will be featured in a video shared on The City’s social media channels.
