Fargo Memorial Honor Guard

On June 14th we celebrate Flag Day. Historically speaking this is the day, we as a country adopted a design for our flag. Known throughout the world as a symbol of freedom. Each year various Veterans groups set this day as a day to retire old ripped and worn out flags. Did you know we burn those flags during the retirement ceremony? This is the only instance where it is acceptable to burn a flag. While numerous protesters around the country feel they can do this as a sign of protest, they simply do not know any better. If you ever have the chance, attend a retirement ceremony. Please remember it is a somber ceremony and no photography is allowed.
On June 18th the FM chamber of commerce is hosting its annual military appreciation night. A free baseball game and activities for the whole military family. Honor Guards will post the colors and there will even be an enlistment ceremony.
On June 24th the Fargo Memorial Honor Guard in conjunction with Scheels is hosting a flag return drop off site at all area Scheels locations. From 11-2 please feel free to drop off your flags and they will be disposed of properly.
In closing, Happy B-day to the US Army June 14th 1775-2024. Two hundred forty nine years, the oldest branch. To all you Army dogs out there- Happy Birthday. Go Army!!!!!!
