Dust off those clubs, as golf season is here!
MOORHEAD – Golfers can take advantage of driving ranges at Village Green starting at 9am on Wednesday, April 3rd.
The course will open Friday, April 5th at 11am. Tee times will be available on a first-come-first-serve, walk-on only basis. No reservations will be taken at this time. Due to weather and course conditions, golf cart usage will be permitted on a day-by-day basis.
The Village Green Pro Shop will be open 10am-6pm and The Meadows Pro Shop will be open 9am-3pm.
The Meadows will be opening soon, stay tuned for more information.

OUTSTANDING YOUNG MUSICIANS TO BE FEATURED IN ROTARY’S RECITAL WITH A CAUSE
FARGO – Six of the region’s most outstanding young musicians will be featured April 11 in the Recital with a Cause, a concert that highlights the upcoming Rotary International District Conference in Fargo.
On the program are four high school and two college musicians: violinist Rick Peng of Fargo, violinist Gabe Sagini of Grand Forks, flautist Alexandra Grotberg of Fergus Falls, and violinist Aashur Olson of Bismarck, all high school juniors and seniors; and saxophonist Jaxon Dewald of Concordia College and pianist Caleb Mendez of the University of North Dakota,
The April 11 recital is the first event of the Rotary District 5580 Conference, to be held in Fargo April 12-13. The meeting is expected to hundreds of Rotarians from Williston and Dickinson, North Dakota, to Thunder Bay, Ontario. The concert begins at 7 p.m. in First Lutheran Church’s Celebration Center. Admission is free, but free-will donations are encouraged.
Representatives of the community’s five Rotary clubs work together to plan each year’s event. The foundation was laid by Andreasen, Gary Nolte, Sam Wai and Russ Hanson in 2010. This year’s team, along with John, includes Ken Retzer, Tom Riley, Mark Hulbert and Mary Gessele, along with other volunteers.
Now in its 14th year, the annual event – sponsored by the FM Rotary Foundation and the five local clubs – has a dual purpose. First, says event chair John Andreasen, it spotlights outstanding young musicians who have won competitions in the region. The annual recital showcases youthful musicians who have won two of the area’s most prestigious competitions – and the Concerto Competition sponsored by the Fargo Moorhead Area Youth Symphonies and the Young Artists Solo Competition, co-sponsored by the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra and Minnesota Public Radio.
The Recital with a Cause has also raised significant contributions for Fargo-Moorhead’s two youth symphony orchestras as well Polio Plus, the global charity that originally inspired it in 2010. Since 1985, Rotary International has been working to eradicate the crippling disease of polio around the world. Mike McGovern, who chairs the international service club’s Polio Plus committee, will be a special guest at this year’s concert.

MSU MOORHEAD SPRING BFA EXHIBIT #2 OPEN APRIL 8 – MAY 9
MOORHEAD – A Minnesota State University Moorhead art exhibit featuring works by graduating art students will be displayed in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts gallery April 8 through May 9. The exhibit is in partial fulfillment of students’ Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degrees. The exhibit features a range of media, including painting, drawing and illustration, printmaking, digital design, photography, ceramics, and sculpture.
The gallery will hold an artists’ reception on Thursday, April 11, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

CITY OF MOORHEAD PARTNERS WITH GATE CITY BANK ON NEIGHBORHOOD IMPACT PROGRAM
MOORHEAD – Beginning March 18 and running through October 31, Gate City Bank will once again partner with the City of Moorhead to revitalize mature neighborhoods, helping local homeowners make repairs and improvements with a low interest rate.
Program funds may be used to address code and structural issues, improve energy efficiency and make general property improvements. Applicants must be the owner-occupant of the home and meet credit requirements. Qualifying projects for the bank’s home improvement programs range from patio additions and new garages to safety repairs like furnace replacements and accessibility adjustments. Funds may also be used to address code and structural corrections, energy improvements and general property upgrades.
Applications must be received on or before October 31, 2024, and generally projects must be within city limits. Each application is subject to credit qualification and a home evaluation, and will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are available. TWO JUVENILE ROBBERY SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY
MOORHEAD – Last week, officers responded to the 1500 block of Belsly Boulevard for a report of a victim who stated he was meeting someone to buy a gaming system. Instead, two males grabbed his money, pushed him, and ran off when they met in the apartment entryway. Officers were unable to locate suspects at that time.
On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, patrol officers who responded to the call for service the day before initiated a follow-up investigation, including posing as a buyer online, communicating with the suspect about purchasing a gaming system, and meeting the suspect in person to buy the system. After meeting with the suspect, one suspect was eventually taken into custody. The second suspect later came to the Law Enforcement Center to turn himself in and was also placed at the Juvenile Detention Center. Both are 16 years old and facing felony robbery charges. Patrol and Investigations Divisions worked together to bring resolution to this case.
The Moorhead Police Department reminds the community that several places, such as the Clay County Law Enforcement Center, have designated areas for meeting parties when purchasing or selling products to unknown people.

FARGO PUBLIC LIBRARY’S ‘NORTHERN FOCUS’ PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT FOR TEENS AND ADULTS SEEKS SUBMISSIONS
FARGO -The Fargo Public Library is seeking submissions for its fifth annual Northern Focus photography project for adults and teens ages 13 and older. Submissions will be accepted online only through May 31, 2024, at fargolibrary.wufoo.com/forms/northern-focus-2024. All rules and guidelines for the project are available at FargoND.gov/northern-focus. All entries will be included in a photo exhibit at the downtown Main Library in the fall, and 15 photos will be selected and featured in a special program booklet. In addition, one photo will be selected as the cover art for the library’s 2024 “Northern Narratives” publication.
All photos must be taken regionally (within North Dakota or Minnesota) and convey a sense of the people, places and/or happenings that make up the diverse community and region. There is no fee to enter; however, those submitting a photo must certify they are the author and copyright holder of the photo. It is the artist’s responsibility to obtain releases from their subjects. Submitted photos must be suitable for public display and community viewing as determined by the library. Obscene, provocative or otherwise questionable content will not be considered.

MOORHEAD PUBLIC LIBRARY TO HOST TAYLOR SWIFT-INSPIRED “ERAS PARTY” APRIL 15
MOORHEAD – The Moorhead Public Library invites youth and teens ages 10 and up to a Taylor Swift-inspired “Eras Party,” which is billed as a celebration of all things Taylor Swift. The program is scheduled Monday, April 15 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and will be held at the Moorhead Public Library, 118 5th St. S.
Attendees are encouraged to dress up as their Taylor Swift Era and are invited to enjoy dancing, singing, crafting and games. The program is offered free-of-charge with craft supplies provided. No registration is required.

DILWORTH COMMUNITY CENTER: A FINAL FAREWELL
DILWORTH – On Saturday, April 6, members from various organizations will come together one final time to memorialize the Community Center as the doors are officially closing with the reconstruction of the fire hall.
The CC has served as an iconic space for various weddings, benefits, Loco Daze, and a multitude of other events. While the CC will go away, its memories will last forever.
