HISTORIAN MARK PEIHL TO GIVE TALK ON LOCAL GERMAN POW CAMP NOV. 13
MOORHEAD – Join the Moorhead Public Library for an informative historical presentation by Mark Peihl of the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County. During World War II, Moorhead was home to a German POW camp. Scores of German prisoners of war worked in local agriculture as part of their time at Algona Branch Camp #1. In this presentation, Mark will bring to life this oft-forgotten part of local history.
This program will be held at the Moorhead Public Library, 118 5th St. S., on Monday, November 13 at 6:30 p.m., All are welcome and this program is offered free-of-charge. For more information, visit larl.org/events or call the library at 218-233-7594.

MSU Moorhead holds “Trunk or Treat” on Halloween
MOORHEAD – Minnesota State University Moorhead will host “Trunk or Treat” for all ages on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the university’s G-1 parking lot located on the corner of 9th Avenue South and 14th Street South, Moorhead. There will be traditional trick or treating, outdoor games, face painting stations, a haunted trailer, and more.

ONE BOOK, ONE COMMUNITY EVENT
MOORHEAD – There was a full house at this year’s One Book, One Community Author Visit featuring “Hudson Bay Bound” author Natalie Warren at the Centrum on the campus of Concordia College on October 19.
Warren shared about her experience embarking on an 85-day journey from Minneapolis to Hudson Bay. Natalie and her travel partner Ann Raiho were the first women to canoe the 2,000-mile route.
One Book, One Community is in its twelfth year encouraging the Fargo-Moorhead community to read one book, together and is the result of partnerships between area libraries and organizations. (Photo/ Hillary Stevens)
