Simple slow cooker meal

From the Kitchens of Amy & JJ

Yep, you read that right. This recipe is for those who love the taste of pickles. This slow cooker meal is great for the beginning of the fall. Scheduling kids, shutting down the cabin and the endless raking are great reasons to get a meal prepped in advance. Whether you are looking to feed a single person or an entire football team, this meal is simple. Pair the beef with some buns and you are set! This freezes beautifully.

Pot Roast for Pickle Lovers

3 to 4lb chuck roast

1 packet Brown Gravy

1 Cup of Pickle Juice

1 Cup Baby Dill Pickles or 1 Cup Thick Chopped Pickles

1 Packet Ranch Dressing

5 cloves of garlic

1 Tablespoon of dried dill, 1/2 Tablespoon fresh

In your slow cooker, add the chuck roast. On top of the roast, add pickles, pickle juice, dill, ranch and gravy packets. No need to stir.

Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours, turning halfway through the cook. When done cooking, let the whole thing rest for 45 minutes. The beef will tenderize during this time. After 45 minutes, shred the beef and you are ready to eat!
