CENTER MALL INDOOR MARKET FRIDAY AND SATURDAY 

MOORHEAD – The Moorhead Center Mall Merchants are looking forward to filling the halls with vendors at the Summer Indoor Market this Friday and Saturday. With over 50 vendors, there will be something for everyone – art, crafts, books, bakery items, sweets, and more. Many vendors are new to the MCM vendor events, coming from as far away as Hibbing, MN. Fishermen will appreciate the items sold by 10,000 Lakes Custom Rods and Jigs. Many returning favorites include Scentsy, Norwex, Colorstreet, Tastefully Simple and Gnomistry will find their spots between the unique new vendors, Bee Sassi, In the Chips Studio, Moonlight Macrame and many more.

Both days from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. you will find live music on the center stage. The FM Community Theatre will preview numbers from the musicals “Grease” and “Emma” performed by the summer camp kiddos. Starting at 11 a.m. is blues guitarist, Little Bobby, followed by “Detour,” Jill Helm, vocals and Gary Williams, guitar. Next on the program at 1:00 p.m. is “The Leading Tone” Jazz Trio featuring Michael Helm, Doug Neill, and Tim Zorener. Barb Schramm, who performed opera in Germany and is now the owner of The 3 Bees, will join “The Leading Tone” as vocalist.

Saturday is a day of good ol’ Country music. Singer/songwriter Todd Sisson from Callaway, MN, starts at 11 a.m.  At Noon Nashville recording artist, Terry Mackner will take over. The MVT Band, Tanya Kemper, Craig Mosley and Monika Winter rounds out the afternoon.

Vic’s Bar and Grill will have a spot just off the courtyard, providing just the right combinations for those of you with the need of nourishment.

The Summer Indoor Market takes place in the Moorhead Center Mall, Friday, July 21 from 10-5 and Saturday, July 22 from 10-4. It is free and open to the public.

ROBBERY SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

Nickolas Pigozzo, age 32, with no permanent address, was arrested last week in Bloomington, MN.

MOORHEAD – Nickolas Pigozza, the suspect in a robbery where he displayed a knife and stole a vehicle on Saturday, July 8, in Moorhead, is in custody and held in the Hennepin County Jail. Moorhead investigators received information from area law enforcement that Pigozza may be located in Bloomington, MN, and information was distributed to their law enforcement. Pigozza was located and taken into custody without incident.

Pigozza will eventually be transported to the Clay County Correctional Facility. The robbery is still an open investigation.

REPRESENTATIVE NEEDED FOR BOARD VACANCY

MOORHEAD – Lakes & Prairies Community Action Partnership, Inc. (CAPLP) is seeking candidates interested in becoming a member of their Board of Directors. This seat would represent the private sector of Clay County. 

Qualified candidates must reside in Clay County and be at least 18 years of age. Private sector candidates may be from businesses, educational institutions, faith communities, service clubs, or other non-profits.

MOORHEAD PUBLIC LIBRARY TO OFFER LALO’S LUNCHBOX COMEDY 

MOORHEAD – Don’t miss a series of engaging sketch comedy, theater and puppet shows featuring sing-alongs perfect for children ages three and up. 

The Moorhead Public Library is thrilled to invite children and their caregivers to join Lalo (performed by PBS KIDS podcaster Ed Jenkins), a fun-loving shopkeeper with a magical lunchbox, and his friends as they handle unpredictable food erupting out of Lalo’s Lunchbox. This zany show will teach kids about healthy foods and being kind to others and is offered free-of-charge thanks to funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. All are welcome to join the fun. 

Lalo’s Lunchbox will perform on Thursday, July 27 at 7 p.m. at the Moorhead Public Library, 118 5th St. S.
