It’s always a pleasure to spread the word of people doing nice things for veterans.
Progressive Insurance is giving a car away to an area veteran.
According to their media:
“Since the start of Progressive’s Keys to Progress vehicle giveaway program in 2013, Progressive has given considerable time and resources to provide more than 900 veterans with reliable transportation so they can get back on the road and move forward in life”.
They will be holding their 11th annual Keys to Progress vehicle giveaway event on November 08, 2023, with the goal of gifting vehicles to recipients in all 50 states.
Applications can be found by searching “Keys For Progress”. Application deadline is August 4th, so as my chief would say “don’t dilly dally.” Giveaway is taking place in November.
Habitat For Humanity is doing a veteran build.
According to their media:
“The VB program, which is a national program with Habitat for Humanity, seeks to help veterans find employment, serve opportunities, and most importantly, a decent and affordable place to live. Over the last 10 years, Habitat has helped 6,636+ and their families improve their housing situation”.

I would encourage you to volunteer or donate to any local charity group.
The Fargo Memorial Honor Guard is looking for members to join. You have to belong to one of the service organizations and be a veteran. If you’d like to honor veterans, their families and do some community events contact me for information.
Command and control; these are words one hears in operation centers. The Russian structure is set up to where high ranking officers make the maneuver decisions, even with aircraft. This thinking has cost them severely. The Syrian and Egyptian military modeled their command structure this way. They took a whipping in the Arab-Israeli War despite having numbers on their side.
Looks as if they have the same model working in Ukraine.
The US structure is set where individual squad initiatives are taken. It’s equals to a force that can think while moving and fighting.
History is a replayed record.
