Tuesday was proclaimed Dr. Anne Blackhurst Day in the city of Moorhead at this week’s meeting of the city council. Mayor Shelly Carlson, herself a Dragon alumna, cited the retiring president’s accomplishments on behalf of Minnesota State University Moorhead. Among them: an intensive review of academic programming leading to expansion of graduate programs and enrollments; development of a strategic framework state the university’s purpose, mission, core values and strategic anchors; and leading a successful $60 million capital campaign.
Blackhurst plans to retire June 30 after nearly 10 years as president. Her successor is Dr. Timothy Downs.
