Baby Bounce: 10:30 am – 11:00 am. Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Songs, stories, and action poems for infants through preschoolers and their caregivers. Program runs about a half hour including playtime and chatting with other caregivers. Free.
Storytime and Craft: 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Join us for Storytime and a craft. Each week, we explore different themes with stories, songs, rhymes, flannel boards, special guests and more. Storytime typically lasts for an hour and is geared for children ages 3-6, although children of all ages are welcome to join the fun. Free.
Rink Reels: Skating and a Movie: 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Broadway Square in Downtown Fargo. Bring (or rent.) your skates and enjoy a winter-themed movie while skating around the Scheels Skating Rink.
Guest Artist Recital: 7:30 pm. Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music at Concordia College. Featuring Cole Bartels on the trombone.

Saturday, January 14
Winter Woodturning Extravaganza: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. In the Chips at 303 21st St. N. in Moorhead. Today, woodturning enthusiasts with the Minn-Dak Woodturners Association are inviting the public to learn more about this fascinating and rewarding craft. This free event will feature several skilled turners demonstrating multiple projects and techniques, including tops, bowls, pens, goblets, vases, hollow forms, and spindles, and visitors can even get a bit of hands-on experience at a lathe.
Bright Smile Storytime Featuring Prairie Public: 10:30 – 11:45 am. Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. The Moorhead Public Library is offering a special Storytime in partnership with Prairie Public and the Clay County Early Childhood Initiative. Toddlers, preschoolers, and their families are invited to enjoy “Smile Bright”-themed activities, an appearance by popular PBS costume characters, and an interactive Storytime for children. Attendees will also take-home free toothbrushes and other oral care items. This program is offered free-of-charge.
2023 Snow Sculpture Competition Stomping Party & Carving Workshop: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Viking Ship Park at 202 1st Ave. N. in Moorhead. Each year, the Moorhead Business Association (MBA) puts on the Frostival Snow Sculpture Competition. In order for the competitors to sculpt, we have giant 10ft x 8ft concrete columns brought in and fill them with snow to form a base for their masterpieces.. This year, we decided to make it a PARTY. Come out to help us stomp down the snow, and we’ll provide a light lunch and a beverage of your choice. Beer donated by Swing Barrel Brewing. Mike Nelson of Team SnoKraft will be offering a free workshop during this event. A sculpture demonstration and hands on training will begin at noon.
Frostival Chili Cook-Off: 2:30 – 5:00 pm. West Fargo VFW at 444 Sheyenne St. in West Fargo. Must be 21+ to enter. Check-in is from 2:30-3:30pm, with judging starting at 3:30pm. Enjoy live music by Blue English at the West Fargo VFW following the event.
Sunday, January 15
Ice Skating Demos: 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Broadway Square in Downtown Fargo. Dazzling skating performances are happening at Broadway Square. This free event is great for anyone wanting to see skating magic in action.
Mini Makers Market XXIX – Presented by Adriana Woltjer: 12:30 – 1:30 pm. Fargo Brewing Company at 610 N. University Dr. in Fargo. 20+ Local Artisans displaying their creations for show and sale. Free and all ages event. Come support local small businesses.
ROURKEART4ALL: 1:00 – 5:00 pm. The Rourke Art Gallery + Museum at 521 Main Ave. in Moorhead. Free.

Bouncin’ Bash: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Rustad Recreation Center at 601 26th Ave. E. in West Fargo. Enjoy the day off of school and bring the kids for a fun day of indoor excitement and inflatable games. There will even be a special Little Jumpers area for kiddos ages five and under. Wristbands for jumpers are $8/person at the door and get you access to our indoor playground, open turf, and all three gyms filled with inflatable games. Parents/guardians are free, and all participants must be accompanied by an adult.
S’mores & More at Clara Barton Park: 5:00 – 7:00 pm. 1451 6th St. S. in Fargo. Join us at S’mores & More for a night out with the family. Cook your own S’mores, drink hot chocolate, listen to music and skate on an outdoor rink. Don’t forget to bring your skates. The rink and warming house are available to use during the event. This event is free and open to the public.

Concordia Showcases High School Art with Exhibit: 5:00- 6:30 pm. Cyrus M. Running Gallery at Concordia College. Concordia College’s “High School Art Show” exhibition reception will take place from 5:00-6:30 pm with juror remarks at 5:30 pm in the gallery. This juried art exhibition showcases the diversity and creativity of student designers and artists from North Dakota and Minnesota high schools.
The Reading List Book Club: 7:00 – 8:00 pm. Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Introducing Moorhead Library’s new book club, The Reading List. Join your favorite librarians as they check books off their to-be-read lists–and then check them off your own lists too. The genres and themes will vary; we’ve got something for everyone. Our first pick is “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig, in which Nora Seed finds herself in a library on the edge of the universe, with books containing all her life’s possible paths. Content warning for mentions of suicide. Free.
