SI-RRV AWARDS

Soroptimist International of the Red River Valley (SI-RRV) has had an excellent year for our Live Your Dream grant program.

In spring 2022 the club’s first place winner, Kaylee M. won $1000 from SI-RRV plus she was awarded first place at our North Central Region competition where she won an additional $5000 prize.  Kaylee attends Rasmussen College in Moorhead. Congratulations Kaylee! Three other $1000 grants were awarded from the local club. These prizes went to Ashley Havig who is attending Minnesota State University Moorhead, Christie Johnson who attends the University of North Dakota and Jena L. who attends Minnesota State University Moorhead.

In addition to these women, six other applicants to the club were awarded Live Your Dream grants by other clubs in our region. This is possible through an application sharing program with clubs who have not received enough applications in a given year.

The Live Your Dream program provides cash awards and recognition to local women who are supporting family members while attending undergraduate higher education. One of our club’s fundraising events is the annual purse auction.  Online: https://www.charityauctionstoday.com/auctions/si-purses-30975

Auction dates are May 4-8.  In addition please see their facebook page: Soroptimist International of Red River Valley for more details. Next year’s application information for Live Your Dream awards will be posted beginning in July.
