Brian Anderson is the owner and sole employee, for now, of one of the area’s newest outdoor-oriented businesses. If, by its name, Meridian 96 Outdoor Services, sounds like the business is a little broad in its vision of what exactly it does, that’s because it offers a lot of services. “Pretty much anything outdoors, we’re willing to do it,” says Anderson.
Anderson plans to add additional staff once he gets regular jobs booked, but, “there’s nothing worse than hiring someone and not having any work for them” he adds.
As for what they do, well, that’s open for discussion. He gives the following as a partial list: Lawn work, tree trimming, custom railing, and dog kennels.
Anderson says that he’s always enjoyed outdoor work and working with his hands. That certainly seems to follow from his résumé which includes his first job at the Fargo City Forestry Department followed by 12 years of fencing.
He has some other passions as well, besides what people think of as outdoor or landscaping work. He says he has a background in welding and fabrication, which is why he adds such items as custom railing to the list of the services he offers. His vision of what he does goes beyond that, too. I’d love to do more deck work,” he adds. In fact, he says, that if you have an outdoor project in mind and “if you wonder if we’ll do that, give us a call and we’ll tell you.”
Though it’s been mostly a mild winter thus far, Anderson adds there could still be some wild snow in April, so he’s also prepared to do snow removal yet this year. He says that’s what outdoor services people like him mostly do during the winter season and that’s what he’ll be doing a lot of next winter.
Based in Fargo, Meridian 96 serves the Red River Valley.
