Two arrested and charged in Moorhead homicide

MOORHEAD – The Clay County Attorney has filed formal charges for Cameron St. Claire, age 32, no permanent address, and Erin Sundby, age 35, no permanent address, regarding the June 4, homicide of Richard Stephen. Both individuals are currently in custody in the Clay County Jail.

St. Claire is charged with 2nd Degree Murder, 3rd degree murder, 2nd degree manslaughter and receiving stolen property.

Sundby is charged with accomplice aiding an offender of second-degree murder, accomplice aiding an offender of third-degree murder and accomplice aiding an offender of second-degree manslaughter, as well as receiving stolen property.

The MN Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting the Moorhead Police Department. 

Moorhead’s 47th annual Independence Day Celebration will continue

 MOORHEAD – Moorhead Business Association (MBA), announced the launch location at Horizon Shores 3801 24th Ave S Moorhead. 2020 theme; “Drive up, or kick back and Tune in”. MBA has partnered with Radio FM Media to broadcast special programming (BOB 95.1) corresponding with the fireworks, to be enjoyed wherever you may be in the city. “Making memories with kids, nothing else matters expect for making memories with your kids because that’s something they’ll remember,” Steve Armstrong of West Fargo said.

Moorhead residents and surrounding communities have already benefited from our communities 46 year tradition celebrating 4th of July together. “We waited the whole year long for 4th of July fireworks. It was that important to us,” Fauzia Haider said of Moorhead. Founded in 1973, MSUM fireworks have become the largest and most celebrated event on the east side of the Red River. This year MSUM will be unable to host the event but with the support of the City, Fire, Police and local businesses the tradition WILL go on!

Fargo Cass Public Health Offering Drive-up Immunization Clinics

FARGO – Fargo Cass Public Health (FCPH) now offers drive-up clinics for routine immunizations. FCPH initially conducted drive-up clinics in smaller groups and is now ready to offer the service to the broader community. The drive-up clinics will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, June 11, Friday, June 19 and Thursday, June 25.

Jessica Leitch, FCPH Immunization Coordinator, says, “We understand people might be nervous right now about going into a clinic for immunizations. However, we want people to keep up with routine immunizations, so we have created an alternative option that puts specific safety measures in place.”

The drive-up clinics are designed to minimize contact between the patient and the provider. Patients are required to wear masks and will remain in their vehicle throughout the appointment, including the 10-minute monitoring period after the immunization is given. This contactless system also includes handling all paperwork, insurance and payment matters over the phone.

Appointments are required and can be made by calling 701.241.1383. Drive-up immunizations will be available for those 11 and older. Routine immunizations for those younger than 11 are available in the clinic. Additional details will be provided at the time the appointment is made.

M State plans flexible on-campus, online options for upcoming fall semester classes

MOORHEAD – Fall courses at Minnesota State Community and Technical College will be offered both on campus and online with a high degree of student flexibility when the semester begins Aug. 24, the college has announced.

Students will be invited back onto M State’s campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena for face-to-face courses, while the college continues offering flexible and online course options. A new option for students will be the choice of 8 or 16-week courses.

“We’re carefully balancing our fall plan for on-campus learning to ensure a focus on safety and flexibility,” said M State President Carrie Brimhall. “Student success is our primary goal while we provide the safest, most accommodating learning environment for students in both our career and transfer programs. We want all communities, no matter their access to technology resources, to be able to access higher education when they want.”

MINNESOTA HOUSING TOP PRODUCING LOAN OFFICERS

WEST FARGO – Angie Scoville and Beth Prigelmeier, VP/Mortgage Loan Officers at Western State Bank, were named Minnesota Housing Top Producing Loan Officers by Minnesota Housing for their loan production during 2019.

Scoville was recognized at the gold level, while Prigelmeier earned the silver level.

“We’re so proud of Angie and Beth for achieving this distinction,” said Roxanne Miller Fliginger, Mortgage Production Manager. “It really goes to show how much they care and do for their customers.”

Minnesota Housing supports and strengthens homeownership by partnering with local loan officers to provide affordable homebuyer loans. First-time and repeat homebuyers can access programs with fixed interest rates and downpayment loans up to $17,000.

The Minnesota Housing Top Producer Loan Officer Program recognizes outstanding loan officers biannually at platinum, gold and silver levels. Loan officers who meet the requirements for each level, based on regional production, are recognized as top producers.
