City of Moorhead Public Meeting Notice: Downtown Plan Open House, 4:00 pm @ Moorhead Center Mall Atrium.

F-M Audubon Meeting, 6:30 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. The February meeting of the local Audubon Chapter will include the monthly Bird Share session, a report from Audubon Dakota (the state office), and more. All are welcome.

Friday, Feb 7:

Transforming Spaces Workshop, 8:00 am @ Hansen Theatre at MSUM. Listen to keynote speaker Jason Dorsey as he helps workplaces understand how Gen Z is going to impact the workforces in the coming years.

MHS Varsity Girls Basketball, 6:00 pm vs. Wayzata @ Moorhead High School.

Concordia Faculty Piano Recital, 7:30 pm @ Christiansen Recital Hall at Concordia College. Grigor Khachatryan will perform a piano recital.

New York Voices Performance, 7:30 pm @ Memorial Auditorium at Concordia College. New York Voices is a critically acclaimed vocal group that has been performing more than 30 years. The ensemble will perform at Concordia as part of the Cultural Events Series. $10-$20.

Saturday, Feb 8:

Giving Hearts Day Winter Market, 10:00 am @ Moorhead Center Mall. This indoor event will feature pantry items, household goods, baked goods, art, hot food, beverages, and more. Shop with your favorite Red River Market vendors while enjoying live music and family activities. In addition, join us for a non-profit expo with interactive booths. Free.

Daughters of Norway Meeting, 10:00 am @ Bethesda Lutheran Church at 401 40th Ave. S. in Moorhead. Program Presentation “A Blast from the Past:  An Immigrant Snapchat” by Barb Schlichting of Bemidji, MN. Barb, who is author of nine books, will also discuss how her heritage has played into her career as a writer. Visitors welcome. Refreshments served. Free.

Frostival: Winter Gear Swap, 10:00 am @ Moorhead American Legion at 303 30th St. N. 

Nature of the North, the Moorhead American Legion Post 21, and Frostival 2020 are teaming up to give the FM community an opportunity to buy, sell, and trade used gear/equipment. Free to attend and free Registration to sell. We simply want to provide a space for you to make some money while also helping to grow your local outdoor community. 

Not Another Teen Book Club, 3:00 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. In “Sorcery of Thorns” by Margaret Rogerson we enter a fantasy world where libraries may not have all the answers. Elisabeth knows the sorcerers are evil, but when her beloved library is in danger, they may be the only ones to save it. Join us for treats and a thrilling discussion. Free.

Sunday, Feb 9:

The Purple Craft Hut Crafting Day, 10:00 am @ Moorhead Masonic Center at 1815 11th St. N. Bring your crafts, scrapbook, knitting, etc. for a day of relaxation and socializing with fellow crafters. Concordia Faculty Recital, 2:00 pm @ Christiansen Recital Hall at Concordia College. David Hamilton, tenor, and Jay Hershberger, piano, will perform a recital. Free.

Open Skate, 2:00 pm @ Moorhead Sports Center. Admission is $2 for kids (age 17 and under), $3 for adults, and $5 for family skate. There is limited skate rental available for $1.

The Concordia Band Home Concert, 4:00 pm @ Memorial Auditorium at Concordia College. The Concordia Band concludes its tour with a home concert.

Monday, Feb 10:

Senior Connections – Resiliency: Taking Care of You, 1:00 pm @ Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead. Presenter Michael Kutzke is a professional speaker presenting training courses for over 15 years, taking pride in his ability to blend humor, information, and adult learning principles. Kutzke delivers a powerful message with a lasting impact. Free.

Kids Graphic Novel Book Club, 6:30 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Join this monthly book club – just for kids. This winter, we’re going on an adventure into another world with the Amulet series of graphic novels by Kazu Kibuishi. The Arc Minnesota West Central Region is holding the 32nd Annual Valentine Dance, open to people with developmental disabilities, their families and friends, and other interested people.
