Thursday, Dec 5:
Moorhead High FAFSA/Financial Aid Night, 6:00 pm @ Moorhead High School Media Center.

F-M Audubon Meeting, 6:30 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. The December meeting will feature a presentation on “Birds and Climate Change” by Michael Bush, who is the Audubon Dakota Communications and Engagement Coordinator. Bush will draw on the national Audubon’s recently released report on the topic. There will also be information about the F-M and other nearby Audubon Christmas Bird counts to be held during December. All are welcome.

Nutcracker Storytime with FM Ballet, 6:30 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Children of all ages are invited to join us for a special Nutcracker Storytime with the FM Ballet. There will be fun stories and songs, plus a dance lesson at the end. Program usually runs about a half hour. Free.

Escaping Terrorists: An MSUM Students’ Journey to the United States, 7:00 pm @ Crossroads Campus Ministry at 619 10th St. S. in Moorhead. Varseen Khalil will tell the story of her journey to the United States after terrorists attempted to destroy the family in Iraq. She will be joined by Dennis Kooren as they speak of the horrors that the Kurdish people have experienced in the Middle East. Free.

Friday, Dec 6:
MHS Varsity Girls Basketball, 6:00 pm vs. Maple Grove at Moorhead High School.

MSUM President’s Winter Celebration of the Arts, 7:30 pm @ Hansen Theatre at MSUM. A collection of theatre, music and visual art taking place on the Hansen Theatre stage and on the Campus Mall. $5-$7.

Concordia Christmas Concert, Friday and Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 pm and Saturday at 2:00 pm @ Memorial Auditorium at Concordia College. Concordia presents the 93rd Annual Concordia Christmas Concert “My Spirit Sings.” $22.

Saturday, Dec 7:
“Holiday Collections” Craft/Vendor Show, 9:00 am @ Holy Cross Catholic Church at 2711 7th St. E. in West Fargo. Tenth annual holiday craft & vendor show. Over 75 artisans, crafters & vendors display their wares for holiday sales. Lunch available for purchase. Door Prizes drawn each half hour. We are the largest church-held craft show in the region. Admission $1.

Toys, Collectibles & Curiosities Expo, 10:00 am @ Moorhead Center Mall. Professor Eustace J. McGonigle’s Toys, Collectibles & Curiosities Exposition has unique vendors for that special collectible or gift! Highlights include local and regional vendors of all things fun including: toys, collectibles and curiosities of all kinds from vintage to modern, comic books, record albums, crafty items, assorted memorabilia and even diverse items like jewelry and other trinkets-not just all toys!

Sunday, Dec 8:
Skate with Santa, 2:00 pm @ Moorhead Sports Center. Lace up your skates and enjoy free open skate with Santa! Free hot chocolate and cookies will be served. Skate rental will be available (limited sizes). $2 admission.

MSUM String Ensemble Concert, 4:00 pm @ Trinity Lutheran Church at 210 7th St. S. in Moorhead. A performance by MSUM’s String Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Earnest Lamb, Dean of the College of Arts, Media and Communication. $5-$7.

93rd Candle & Carol Christmas Music Celebration, 7:00 pm @ First United Methodist Church at 906 1st Ave. S. in Fargo. This worship service in scripture and song features vocal and bell choirs and a brass quintet, in addition to congregational singing of favorite carols. Following the service, refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall. No admission will be charged; a free-will offering is optional.

The Arc Minnesota Dances, 7:15 pm @ Ellen Hopkins Elementary School in Moorhead. Everyone is welcome to dance and socialize. DJ provides the music. No charge. Sponsored by The Arc Minnesota, West Central Region.

Tuesday, Dec 10:
Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota, 3:00 pm @ Moorhead Public Library at 118 5th St. S. Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota will be hosting office hours at the library to provide free legal advice on civil (non-criminal) issues to low income families and individuals. The organization can assist with Minnesota legal issues surrounding housing, family, public benefits and other issues related to critical basic needs. Free.

RRWS Holiday Potluck & Card Exchange, 6:00 pm @ First Presbyterian Church of Moorhead at 2900 5th St. S. The Red River Watercolor Society cordially invites you to the Holiday Potluck & Card Exchange beginning at 6:00 pm. (PLEASE NOTE THE EARLIER STARTING TIME) It’s a lovely early evening for gathering with other watercolor artists to share ideas and experiences together. And, of course, good food and holiday cheer! Bring a dish to share, and a handmade card to exchange if wish to participate in that activity.

A Grinchmas Story Dance Show, 7:30 pm @ Hansen Theatre at MSUM. Join MSUM student dancers and choreographers in a story about Cindy Lou Who and her furry green friend. The story will include ballet, jazz, tap, and more. Fun for the young, and the young at heart. $5-$7.
