Alcohol Compliance Check Results
Fargo, N.D. — The Fargo Police Department, with the assistance of Fargo Cass Public Health, conducted alcohol compliance checks in Fargo on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015.
A random pick determined which establishments were to be checked. There were 32 establishments checked, with 31 of these establishments passing.

Aziz Sherbanoo presents on
her Indian Cuisine Cookbook at HCS
Aziz Sherbanoo will present on the latest edition of her book, “Sherbanoo’s Indian Cuisine” on February 22, at 2pm in the Hjemkomst Theater at the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County. The book offers an authentic taste of Indian cuisine in easy to follow recipes that Sherbanoo learned while growing up in India and adapted for cooking in the U.S.
After the first two editions sold out, this third edition offers many new features including nutrition facts, easier preparation, and additional recipes. With traditional and not-so-traditional dishes there is something to suit everyone in this book. Recipes range from savory, like the Chicken Tandoori, to sweet, such as Kulfi, a traditional Indian ice cream. There is also a whole section devoted entirely vegetarian dishes.
The book is available for purchase at the Heritage Center Gift Shop at the Hjemkomst Center.
The presentation is Sunday, February 22, from 2 to 4 p.m.at the Hjemkomst Center.
Sherbanoo will be available to sign copies of her book and chai and Indian cookies will be served.
Firearms Safety Course
begins March 10, 2015
Five Tuesday evenings from 7–9 p.m., along with the final day of Wednesday April 8, 3-5 p.m.
Classes will be held at Robert Asp School, 910 11th Street North, Moorhead. Cost is $5.00 for age 11 or older.
Registration is March 10, 2015 from 6:30 to 7:00 pm. Parent or guardian and a copy of birth certificate is required at registration (Xerox copy OK).

SQUARE Workshops
Feature Barn Quilts and Hankies
A Woman’s Perspective Art Exhibitions and Events presents workshops in conjunction with the exhibits on the theme of SQUARE currently showing at the Hjemkomst Center through March 30.
“Quilt A Hankie” taught by Barb Nicholson on Saturday, February 28, 10 am – 4 pm, features techniques on selecting, planning and quilting a vintage linen handkerchief. “Barn Quilts” taught by Mary Jo Schmid on Sunday, March 1, 12:30 – 4 pm features acrylic painting on 2’x2’ board to create a personal quilt block suitable for hanging outdoors. Additional classes in March include the Art of Tasting Tea, Watermedia Painting, and Spring Fever Workshop hosted by Quilters’ Guild of North Dakota.
Inspiration for the workshops can be viewed in the exhibits “Remembering When: Quilted Vintage Tablecloths” and “A Woman’s Perspective on SQUARE Multimedia Art Exhibition” at the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County in the Hjemkomst Center, 202 North 1st Avenue, Moorhead, Minnesota.
